Grow By Three

August 2020

Instead of writing a letter myself, our summer intern, Faith, has written a letter about her internship experience with us. You may read her letter below.

Dear Growers,

My name is Faith Whyte, and I’m Grow By Three’s Summer 2020 Business/Marketing Intern. Even through all of the difficult circumstances surrounding COVID-19, Grow By Three gave me an abundantly rewarding internship experience, where I grew not only as a future business owner and young professional, but also as a person.

Unlike many large companies, Grow By Three created a personal, intentional internship experience for me, where my supervisor doubled as both my boss and my mentor. Each and every project assigned to me over the last few months was purposefully crafted to equip me to run my own business in the future and challenge me to be a better thinker, communicator, and problem solver. Grow By Three encouraged my creativity and helped me rein in my good ideas. I saw directly how my projects built off of one another and exactly how my work was used to further Grow By Three’s vision. My time as an intern was full of learning the ins and outs of entrepreneurship, consulting, and marketing and simultaneously promoting and evoking social justice, equality, and allyship for marginalized groups. Grow By Three taught me by example how to selflessly blend professional passions with social convictions, and I will forever be grateful for the outlet they provided me to actively practice this.

Of all the lessons I’ve learned through my time interning with Grow By Three, the lesson that resonates with me the most is that there can -- and should -- be a large overlap between entrepreneurship and social justice. All of the work Grow By Three completes, including my work as an intern, contributes directly to improving the lives of those around us, whether it is by helping to level the playing field for applicants or by educating others on diversity and inclusion. Grow By Three sets a great example for all companies, and I am so thankful for my internship experience!
